Halle Inclusion Day 2026 unites voices for disability rights and accessibility
The 18th Halle Inclusion Day will gather people with and without disabilities for dialogue and networking on 5 May. Organised under the motto ‘Human Rights Are Non-Negotiable’, the event marks the European Protest Day for the Equal Rights of People with Disabilities. It is part of Europe Week 2026 and receives support from the State Chancellery and Ministry of Culture of Saxony-Anhalt. The day will begin with a welcome address from Katharina Brederlow, Deputy Mayor for Education and Social Affairs. Katja Fischer, State Managing Director and Board Member of the German Red Cross (DRK) Saxony-Anhalt, will then deliver greetings, followed by Europe Day remarks from Alexandra Mehnert, Member of the European Parliament for Saxony-Anhalt.
Attendees can explore informational and interactive booths, enjoy inclusive performances, and join a panel discussion titled *‘More Accessibility in Culture and Construction’*. The programme aims to foster exchange and highlight ongoing challenges in accessibility. The event will wrap up with closing remarks and a preview of the 2027 edition, continuing the tradition of advocacy and community engagement.
Halle Inclusion Day provides a platform for discussions on equal rights and practical solutions. The mix of performances, debates, and networking opportunities reflects its role in promoting inclusion. Organisers have confirmed the event will return next year with further initiatives.
