Berlin Police Seek Help Identifying Homeless Man Known Only as 'Ben'
Berlin’s State Criminal Police Office (LKA) is asking for the public’s help to identify a deceased man. Known only as 'Ben', the 63-year-old had been living without a home in the Weißensee district before his death in March 2026. Authorities believe he may have had family ties to Brandenburg. The man was taken to Park-Klinik Weißensee in late February 2026. He passed away in mid-March, but his identity remains unknown. Investigators have learned he was often seen near Alter Friedhof Weißensee, Bernkasteler Straße, Neumagener Straße, Falkenberger Straße, and Buschallee.
Years earlier, he reportedly lost his wife and children in a traffic accident. The crash, allegedly caused by a drunk truck driver, occurred in Brandenburg. Police also discovered he had two sisters who may still live in the region. The LKA’s Missing Persons Unit is urging anyone with information to come forward. They are particularly interested in details about his background, family connections, or any other relevant facts.
Anyone with leads about the man’s identity is asked to contact the Missing Persons Unit of Berlin’s State Criminal Police Office. The investigation continues as authorities work to confirm his name and notify any surviving relatives.
