Major Overhaul of Bikin's Local History Museum to Continue Until 2027
Historic Bikin museum undergoes 27-million-ruble renovation by 2027
The Khabarovsk Territory Today news agency reports that the large-scale renovation of the cultural institution is being carried out under Russia's Family national project, initiated by President Vladimir Putin. The total contract value amounts to 27 million rubles.
During this period, specialists will restore the building's façade, insulate its structures, and replace window units while preserving the historic stucco work. The project also includes upgrades to the heating, ventilation, plumbing, sewage, electrical, and lighting systems, as well as interior finishing.
The Nikolai G. Yevseyev Local History Museum building was constructed in 1948, with a second floor added in 1980. "Our goal is not just to modernize the facilities but to carefully preserve this architectural heritage for future generations," emphasized Olesya Polozhentseva, head of the Bikin Urban District.
The contractor has already begun the first phase of work, which includes demolition. During this process, cracks were discovered in the walls. Members of the oversight commission inspected the premises and discussed adjustments to the work plan with the contractor to address the need for additional insulation.
As a reminder, according to the Khabarovsk Territory government, this year's Family national project also includes technical upgrades for six museums across the region. In addition to Bikin's Yevseyev Local History Museum, the initiative covers the Amursk City Local History Museum, the Chegdomyn Intersettlement Local History Museum, the Novourgalsk Urban Settlement Museum, the A.P. Khodzher Local History Museum in the Nanai District, and the Polina Osipenko District Intersettlement Information-Library-Museum Center.
