How Laura's career bridges film, business and creative innovation

Laura has built a varied career across film, business, and creative industries. Starting in corporate communications, she later shifted into film production and sector support. Her work now spans producing content, running industry initiatives, and advising creative businesses.

Laura began her career in corporate communications and advertising. She then moved into management consulting while studying for an MBA. During this time, she also made short films as a side project.

In 2011, she joined the British Film Institute. Three years later, she relocated to Cornwall. By 2019, she had established Screen Cornwall, an organisation supporting the region’s film and media sector. Her work has included running projects for the British Film Commission, Raising Films, and the UK Film Centre in Cannes. She also led a delegation to the GREAT Festival of Creativity in Shanghai. Alongside these roles, she has advised creative businesses through an EU-funded programme and worked for an app company. Today, Laura continues producing short and long-form content through her company, Storm Force Films.

Laura’s career now combines film production, sector development, and business advisory work. Through Screen Cornwall and Storm Force Films, she remains active in both creative projects and industry support. Her experience spans corporate, public, and independent sectors.
