Ilya Semenov appointed First Deputy Head of Komi Republic's government
Ilya Semenov has been named First Deputy Head of the Administration of the Head of the Republic of Komi and its government. The announcement appeared on the region’s official website. His career spans education, finance, and public service over more than two decades.
Born on August 5, 1978, in Yaroslavl, Semenov graduated from P.G. Demidov Yaroslavl State University in 2000 with a history degree. He began teaching at Secondary School No. 81 in Yaroslavl in 2002.
From 2003 to 2009, he worked as a manager at the 'Russian Credit Society' credit union in the same city. In 2009, he moved to Ukhta in the Republic of Komi, where he led the regional public organisation 'Sprint Guild' until 2011. Between 2012 and 2013, he took on roles within the Administration of the Ukhta Urban Okrug. He remained in Ukhta until 2016 before later advancing to state positions. By 2020, he became Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Jewish Autonomous Oblast.
Semenov’s latest appointment marks a return to the Republic of Komi in a senior leadership role. His background includes regional governance, financial management, and educational experience. The official announcement confirms his new responsibilities within the republic’s administration.
