In the picture we can see three boys standing near the desk on it, we can see two computer systems towards them and one boy is talking into the microphone and they are in ID cards with red tags to it and behind them we can see a wall with an advertisement board and written on it as Russia imagine 2013.

Kai Woitek steps in as Mönchengladbach’s new Citizen Services chief

Kai Woitek has taken over as the head of the Citizen Services Department in Mönchengladbach, succeeding Hardy Drews who retired after over 45 years of dedicated service. Woitek, who previously led the project office overseeing the construction of the new police headquarters, brings a wealth of experience in human resources, ICT, and digitization projects.

Woitek began his career as a bank clerk in 2002 before transitioning to public service in 2005. He worked in human resources and ICT at Mönchengladbach Police Headquarters from 2008 to 2018. From 2018 to 2023, he introduced the electronic file system and implemented further digitization projects in the city administration.

Drews, who started his career in the Department of Administrative Development and Services in 1992, held various roles throughout his tenure. He served as a controller in Department III from 2007 to 2011, led the Steering Support and Controlling Division from 2011 to 2012, and was a subproject manager for personnel and organization in the central budget consolidation project. He led the Citizen Services Department from 2014 until his retirement in late 2023.

Woitek, who returned to North Rhine-Westphalia in 2023, heads the Central Services Directorate at Mönchengladbach Police Headquarters, overseeing the registry office, electoral office, district affairs, and immigration services. His appointment to the Citizen Services Department is expected to build on Drews' legacy, further enhancing the city's services through Woitek's expertise in digitization and public service.
