Krasnodar Region transforms roadside fairs into modern tourist hubs

Roadside fairs in Krasnodar Region are changing to better serve tourists and local producers. The shift focuses on improving service quality rather than simply increasing the number of stalls. Officials have now outlined plans to develop larger, more efficient service complexes along key routes. A recent meeting, led by Yury Burlachko, Speaker of the Krasnodar Region Legislative Assembly, addressed the future of roadside services. Deputies examined ways to enhance the quality of goods sold to visitors, particularly local souvenirs and produce. Burlachko stressed that well-maintained road infrastructure leaves a lasting impression on tourists arriving in the region.

The region currently hosts over 5,500 roadside facilities, but the number of traditional fairs has dropped. This follows a deliberate policy to replace scattered stalls with eight planned multifunctional complexes. These new hubs will offer a wider range of services, from food and crafts to rest areas, all in one location. Alexander Ruppel, Vice Governor of Krasnodar, acknowledged lawmakers for their role in shaping the initiative. Burlachko also confirmed that deputies will continue monitoring roadside facilities throughout the busy summer season to ensure standards remain high.

The changes aim to streamline tourist services while supporting local businesses. With fewer but better-equipped service points, the region expects improved visitor experiences and stronger sales for regional producers. The first of the new complexes will be rolled out in designated locations across Krasnodar.
