Latvia's Entrepreneurship World Cup finals open for bold startups
Applications are now open for the Latvian national finals of the Entrepreneurship World Cup. The competition offers five spots to local companies, with the winner advancing to the global finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Last year’s Latvian champion, Juris Kļonovs of BirgerMind, has urged entrepreneurs to take part for a chance at international growth. The national finals will be held on 20 June at the LAMPA Conversation Festival in Cēsis. Companies registered in Latvia and founded within the last decade can apply until 14 May. Successful finalists will receive free training in 'elevator pitch' delivery and professional video business cards.
The global stage includes a prize pool of 1.5 million US dollars. Winners also gain access to investment opportunities and support for scaling their businesses worldwide. Juris Kļonovs, who secured a top 100 position globally last year, has firsthand experience of the competition’s benefits. BirgerMind, Kļonovs’ start-up, was recently named among the top 16 healthcare innovators at the BIBAN Forum. His success highlights the potential for Latvian entrepreneurs to make an impact on the world stage.
The Entrepreneurship World Cup provides a platform for Latvian start-ups to gain visibility and funding. The national winner will represent the country in Riyadh, competing for a share of the global prize. Applications close on 14 May, with the finals scheduled for 20 June in Cēsis.
