Magadan launches citywide cleanup before September 25 deadline

Citywide Cleanup Month Kicks Off in Magadan

A traditional citywide cleanup campaign has begun in Magadan, the administrative center of the Kolyma region, following a decree signed by the mayor's office, according to a statement from Magadan City Hall.

A coordinating committee has been established to organize and oversee the cleanup of urban areas, comprising heads of relevant municipal agencies.

Local businesses and organizations will receive invitations to participate in volunteer cleanup days, with designated areas assigned for maintenance.

City services have already launched operations, deploying specialized equipment and allocating necessary funds. Additional seasonal workers will also be hired. Many Magadan residents have already joined the effort, which will continue through September 25.

Housing management companies are advised to prepare sufficient tools and supplies for volunteers cleaning residential courtyards in apartment buildings, as well as to organize community workdays involving property owners and provide practical support.

Leaders of businesses of all ownership types, garage cooperatives, individual entrepreneurs, and owners of private homes and garages are also encouraged to maintain the proper condition of facades, informational signs, street nameplates, and building numbers under their responsibility. They are urged to clear courtyards and adjacent areas of litter, repair and repaint small architectural features, and restore other elements of urban infrastructure.
