Magadan residents confront deputy over neglected courtyards and icy hazards
Alexander Vakhov, a deputy of the Magadan City Duma, recently met with residents of the Nagayevo microdistrict to address local concerns. The gathering focused on long-standing issues affecting daily life, particularly the state of residential courtyards after winter. All complaints raised by attendees were officially recorded for follow-up action.
During the session, two elderly residents—Olga Yuryevna and Tatyana Vasilyevna—spoke directly to Vakhov about the deteriorating conditions in their neighbourhood. They highlighted problems such as uneven roads, lack of greenery, missing benches, and unclean entranceways. A major frustration was the leftover snow from winter, which had not been cleared promptly and had since hardened into hazardous ice blocks.
The meeting formed part of broader party initiatives, *Older Generation* and *Strong Family*, aimed at engaging directly with Magadan’s residents. Vakhov assured those present that he would arrange further discussions with the heads of relevant agencies and utility services. These talks are intended to find practical solutions to the issues raised by Nagayevo’s residents.
The recorded requests will now be reviewed by local authorities. Vakhov’s planned meetings with agency leaders aim to resolve the courtyard problems, including road repairs, greenery restoration, and better winter maintenance. Residents await updates on when these improvements will begin.
