Magadan's Puppet Theater Celebrates 47 Years of Cultural Legacy and Modern Upgrades
World Puppet Theater Day was marked on March 21 with celebrations across Russia. In Magadan, the regional puppet theater reached a milestone, having served the community for 47 years. The occasion also highlighted ongoing upgrades supported by United Russia's Theaters for Children initiative.
The Magadan Regional Puppet Theater was founded in 1979 and has since staged over 160 productions. Its performances have reached audiences more than 12,000 times, making it a cornerstone of local culture. Victoria Golubeva, Deputy Speaker of the Magadan Regional Duma, acknowledged the theater's role in shaping values and preserving traditions during the holiday festivities.
With backing from United Russia, the venue has modernised its technical setup. New lighting and sound systems have been installed, improving the quality of shows. The theater also engages in charity work, including the *Kind April* marathon, which supports vulnerable groups.
The upgrades and continued activity of the Magadan Puppet Theater reflect broader efforts to strengthen cultural institutions. United Russia's initiative has helped theaters like this one enhance their facilities and expand their offerings. The theater remains a key part of the region's artistic and social life.
