Maharashtra’s Bold Plan: A 250-Acre Educity and World-Class Law University Rise Near Mumbai

The Maharashtra government has received praise from Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai for its support to judicial infrastructure, which he described as 'world-class' and on par with international standards. Meanwhile, plans are underway to establish a significant educational hub in the state.

One such initiative is the upcoming Educity, a sprawling 250-acre facility near Navi Mumbai International Airport. This project aims to provide top-tier global education to Indian students within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). All necessary permissions have been secured for this venture.

The government has also been proactive in addressing concerns regarding the proposed Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) campus at Pahadi, Goregaon. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis clarified that the allotted land is not a wetland, dispelling environmental concerns raised by activist Zoru Bhathena. The MNLU campus is envisioned to be one of India's most advanced, with modern amenities and a target to achieve international status.

In a broader vision, Maharashtra plans to create an 'International Education City' in Navi Mumbai. Already, five international universities have expressed interest in this ambitious project.

The Maharashtra government's commitment to enhancing education infrastructure is evident in its plans for Educity and the MNLU campus. With the support of the CJI and the resolution of environmental concerns, these projects are poised to bring world-class educational opportunities to the state.
