MAINGAU Unveils 'Fusion' Building as Workforce Tops 350 Employees
Energy and Technology Firm MAINGAU Named "Company of the Year 2026"
MAINGAU, an energy and technology company based in Obertshausen, has been honored as "Company of the Year 2026" for the first time. In mid-April, the firm also inaugurated its new "Fusion" building on its corporate campus.
According to the company, MAINGAU received the award in a survey conducted by Focus Money and Deutschland Test. In the category of nationwide energy providers, the company scored a perfect 100 points. The evaluation was based on several million online mentions of roughly 16,500 German businesses, with criteria including price, quality, trust, service, and likelihood of recommendation.
New Building Expands Obertshausen Site
On April 15, MAINGAU also opened its new "Fusion" building in Obertshausen. Construction began in summer 2023, and the three-story facility now provides space for over 100 employees. The company states that it now offers more than 350 workstations at its Obertshausen location.
The building is situated between two existing structures on the corporate campus and is physically connected to one of them. Its technical features include a photovoltaic system, a heat pump, and smart controls for climate, temperature, and lighting. MAINGAU reports that 40 companies were involved in the project's implementation.
Significant Growth in Workforce
MAINGAU also highlights its expansion in recent years. While the company employed around 140 people in 2018, that number had grown to approximately 350 by 2025. The new building is intended to provide the spatial capacity needed for further growth.
The soft opening was attended by Managing Director Richard Schmitz, Deputy Managing Director Dirk Schneider, Supervisory Board Chairman Manuel Friedrich, and decathlete Andreas Bechmann, who delivered a presentation for employees.
Schmitz stated: "We have bold ambitions for the energy world of tomorrow, and being named 'Company of the Year' confirms that we're on the right path. 'Fusion' is more than just a building—it brings people, ideas, and teams together, embodying the workplace culture we live every day at MAINGAU."
