Major crash on Wiesbaden's B417 leaves two drivers injured and road closed
A serious collision between two vehicles took place on Platter Straße (B417) in Wiesbaden on Thursday afternoon (May 7). The crash left two drivers injured and caused major traffic delays along the route. The accident occurred near the Nordfriedhof cemetery when two oncoming cars collided. The force of the impact caused one vehicle to flip onto its roof. The driver inside became trapped and required rescue by firefighters.
Emergency crews quickly secured the scene. Firefighters assisted medical teams and ensured fire safety while police began investigations. Due to the rescue work and ongoing checks, the B417 was completely closed to traffic. Both drivers received medical attention at the scene before being taken to hospitals in Wiesbaden. The driver of the overturned car suffered severe injuries, while the other sustained moderate harm.
The crash led to significant disruptions on Platter Straße, with the road remaining shut during recovery efforts. Both injured drivers were transported for further hospital treatment following the incident.
