German man pays sex worker with fake €100 bills, police seize dozens more
A 21-year-old man from Offenbach faces investigation after allegedly paying a sex worker with fake €100 notes. Police have seized dozens more suspected counterfeit bills from his home during a search on Wednesday. The incident dates back to August 2022, when the man reportedly used several counterfeit €100 notes to pay for services. Authorities later arrested him provisionally and took him to a police station for formal identification.
On Wednesday, officers executed a judicial search warrant at his residence. There, they discovered and confiscated 56 additional suspected fake €100 notes. The origin of the counterfeit money remains unclear, and investigators have yet to confirm whether the suspect produced it himself. The man is now under investigation for fraud and counterfeiting offences.
The case remains open as police continue their inquiries. Authorities have not released further details about the suspect’s potential involvement in the production of the fake currency. The investigation is ongoing.
