Seesen. State road L526 between the Seesen districts of Münchehof and Kirchberg will be fully closed from Friday for the construction of a new cycle path, according to an announcement by the Lower Saxony State Authority for Road Construction and Transport.
Major road closure on L526 disrupts travel until late August
The work is expected to last until the end of August.
Initially, the route will be closed on one side, with traffic guided past the construction site in alternating directions via temporary traffic lights. A reduced speed limit will apply in the construction zone.
Accompanying no-parking restrictions will be introduced in Kirchberg's Katzhagen area and along Alte Dorfstraße. The measures aim to improve cycling infrastructure while enhancing road safety and contributing to climate protection.
During the full closure, traffic will be diverted via a wide detour.
From Münchehof toward Kirchberg, the detour follows federal road B242 toward Herrhausen, then continues via district roads K58 and K64 to Kirchberg. Traffic in the opposite direction will be rerouted accordingly.
