Man Charged With Attempted Homicide After Brutal Sarstedt Assault
A 54-year-old man is now in pretrial detention after a violent assault in Sarstedt-Heisede. The attack happened on Saturday morning and left a 38-year-old resident severely injured. Authorities have charged the suspect with attempted homicide.
The incident took place around 11:20 a.m. on Saturday. According to investigators, the suspect allegedly struck and kicked the victim repeatedly in the head with extreme force. The 38-year-old lost consciousness and was rushed to hospital, where he remains under medical care.
The Hildesheim Public Prosecutor’s Office classified the assault as attempted homicide. An arrest warrant was requested and granted by the local court the following day. The suspect, who has refused to speak to police, was taken into custody at a correctional facility. The investigation into the attack is still ongoing.
The suspect now faces serious charges while the victim continues to receive treatment. Authorities have not released further details about the motive or the condition of the injured man. The case remains under active investigation.
