Man Tortured His Family for Seven Years, Now He Must Serve Time - Man Jailed for Seven Years of Psychological and Physical Abuse Against Stepdaughters
A 45-year-old man has been sentenced to three years and ten months in prison for severely abusing his former partner's two daughters over seven years. The Bremen Regional Court found him guilty of deprivation of liberty, grievous bodily harm, and severe abuse of dependents after a lengthy legal process.
The abuse began when the man manipulated his then-partner and her children into believing they suffered from serious illnesses. He posed as a doctor, administering painful injections—even to their heads—and forced the girls into isolation. One child was told she had worms and locked in her room, while the other was made to dig her own grave, convinced she had a fatal disease.
The deception only ended when the man left the family in 2018. His former partner then contacted youth services, triggering a four-year, seven-month investigation. The court heard how the girls endured years of psychological torment, with the man exploiting their trust to control every aspect of their lives. During sentencing, the prosecution had pushed for five years and two months in prison, while the defence argued for a suspended term. The judge ultimately granted a six-month reduction, leaving the man with three years and four months to serve. His former partner and her daughters sat in tears as the verdict was delivered.
The case concluded on May 25, 2023, after a legal battle that began in October 2018. The court confirmed the lasting harm caused by the man's actions, with the victims left to recover from years of manipulation and abuse.
