Mannheim arson attack leaves €3,000 in damage after trash bins torched

On Tuesday, an unknown perpetrator set at least three garbage bins on fire in Pumpwerkstraße before fleeing the scene. Around 1:30 p.m., an alert witness noticed two burning trash bins and a flaming dumpster, then immediately notified police. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, preventing it from spreading. Investigators later discovered fire damage on another dumpster, suggesting the suspect had also attempted to ignite it. The total property damage is estimated at approximately €3,000.
The arson investigator from Mannheim-Neckarstadt police station is now appealing for witnesses who may have seen suspicious activity. Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact police at +49 621 3301-0.
