Thorsten Gröger, the district head of IG Metall, emphasized ahead of the upcoming holiday that this year's May Day demonstrations will be held under the slogan "Our Jobs First, Then Your Profits."

The union highlights that many workers are deeply concerned about their jobs and futures. Gröger stated that IG Metall, together with the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) and other labor organizations, is fighting for job security and social protections.

This year, he stressed, it is especially crucial to take to the streets to push for a strong industrial sector and fair working conditions.

Rallies will take place in cities including Hannover, Braunschweig, and Wolfsburg. In Hannover, the demonstration will begin at 11:00 AM at Goseriedeplatz.

Further details on the events can be found on the DGB's website.
