The project, which concluded on Sunday, staged a mock trial examining a potential ban on the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party. Plaar, who goes by Frau Löwenherz (Lionheart) on social media, was set to appear as a witness. But when she received the list of participants just days before the performance, she withdrew. She felt deceived, explaining that she had been led to believe the event would be a controversial but democratic debate. She said she had not been told that far-right extremists would also be present.

"I will not lend my name, my face, or my platform to giving fascists a stage," Plaar said in explaining her decision. As a lesbian woman, she added, she found it unacceptable to share a stage with people whose political views dehumanize her community.

In the end, several AfD politicians—including Erika Steinbach and Maximilian Krah—also pulled out. The theater project failed to reach a clear recommendation. Plaar's stance, however, remains unequivocal: she has been advocating for a ban on the AfD for years.
