Motorcyclist critically injured after crashing into tree on Friedhofsweg
A 26-year-old motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries after crashing into a tree on Friedhofsweg early Saturday morning. The accident happened between Renkenberge and Kluse, leaving the rider in critical condition.
The incident occurred at around 6:25 a.m., with the motorcyclist travelling toward Kluse. While navigating a right-hand bend, he veered left off the road and struck a tree head-on. The force of the collision caused the motorcycle to flip and land in the grass verge beside the road.
The injured man was discovered severely hypothermic, suggesting the crash may have happened earlier in the night. Emergency services airlifted him to hospital by rescue helicopter for urgent treatment. Police in Meppen are now asking for witnesses to come forward with any information about the accident.
The rider remains in hospital with serious injuries following the crash. Authorities continue to investigate the exact circumstances, including the possibility that the collision took place hours before the rider was found.
