Thieves steal official vehicle and tools from Brake road depot overnight
A road maintenance depot in Brake was targeted by thieves overnight into May 1. The break-in resulted in the theft of an official vehicle, construction machinery, and tools. Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward with any details about the crime.
The incident took place at the Brake depot on the B212 between 9:30 PM on Thursday and 10:40 AM on Friday. The thieves gained entry by forcing open a rear window. Once inside, they searched both the administrative offices and the workshop before making off with stolen goods.
Among the missing items is a gray VW ID.3 PRO S, clearly marked with the insignia of the Lower Saxony State Road and Transport Authority. The vehicle also features red-and-white reflectors on the hood, making it easily recognisable. The total value of the stolen equipment and tools remains unknown at this time. Police in Brake have urged anyone with information about the crime or the whereabouts of the stolen vehicle to contact them immediately.
The stolen car and equipment belong to the Lower Saxony State Road and Transport Authority. Authorities are actively investigating the break-in and have asked the public to report any suspicious activity. The case remains open as officers work to recover the missing items.
