Langelsheim: Bike Path Renewal in Neuekrug to Resume on April 7
Neuekrug's €1M bike path renewal kicks off with road closures and upgrades
Construction work to renew the bike path in Neuekrug (Langelsheim) is set to resume on Tuesday, April 7. To carry out the work, one lane of the B248 federal road toward Seesen will need to be closed, according to a statement from the Lower Saxony State Road and Transport Authority.
The final phase of this project begins in Neuekrug at the junction of the B248 and K69, extending toward Seesen up to approximately house number 32A. Traffic will be guided past the construction site in alternating directions using temporary traffic lights. Since the bike path will be closed in the construction zone, pedestrians and cyclists can use the parallel Hütteweg route in both directions. The detour is clearly signposted. Affected residents in the construction area will be notified separately by the contracting firm.
Completion Expected by Late June
The bike path renewal along the B248 is a joint project involving the Lower Saxony State Road and Transport Authority (Goslar office), the Peine Water Association, and the town of Langelsheim. In addition to resurfacing the pedestrian and bike path, the work includes renewing road drains, manhole systems, gutter installations, and sewer lines.
The total cost of the project is approximately one million euros, with completion expected by the end of June 2026.
The Goslar office of the State Road and Transport Authority urges all road users to exercise mutual consideration and heightened caution during the construction period.
