Omsk Region's New Automated Tax System Cuts Red Tape for Businesses
The Omsk Region introduced a new tax system at the start of 2025. Called the Automated Simplified Tax System (ASTS), it aims to cut paperwork and streamline payments for businesses. Over 300 taxpayers in the area have already made the switch by early December 2025. The ASTS launched on January 1, 2025, offering automated tax calculations and payments. Businesses using the system spend less time on tax accounting and reporting. It also reduces human mistakes in declarations, lowering the chance of fines.
For those wanting to adopt the ASTS, a notification must reach tax authorities by December 31, 2025. Submissions can be made online through a taxpayer’s personal account or via a financial institution. The system has already attracted 342 taxpayers in the Omsk Region by the beginning of December 2025.
The ASTS cuts costs and simplifies tax processes for companies and self-employed workers. Those who transition before the deadline will benefit from reduced administrative tasks. The system continues to expand as more businesses opt in before the year’s end.
