Osnabrück police probe public order offences linked to car meets
Osnabrück Police Department has been investigating a series of public order offences since January 2026. The case involves three suspects aged between 18 and 25. They are accused of various charges, including assaults on officers and document forgery. The probe began after an incident at a Europe-wide car meet attended by hundreds of vehicles. According to reports, eggs and pyrotechnics were thrown at police when a patrol car arrived. Two of the suspects are also linked to a public order breach in Melle on December 13, 2025.
On Friday evening, officers carried out coordinated searches at properties in Melle, Paderborn, and Lage. They seized extensive evidence during the operation. A third suspect is accused of using a car with unassigned licence plates in connection with car meets.
The task force is now evaluating the seized materials. The investigation remains focused on suspected breaches of public order, incitement, assaults on police, and document forgery. The three individuals remain under investigation. Authorities are reviewing the evidence to determine further action. The case highlights ongoing efforts to address public order offences linked to large-scale car gatherings.
