Patient assaults senior doctor in Simferopol hospital after reprimand
A patient at a hospital in Simferopol attacked the head of her department after receiving a reprimand, local investigators report. The woman had been behaving aggressively, and when a doctor confronted her, she lunged at him with her fists, injuring his face. The details were confirmed by the Crimean and Sevastopol branch of Russia's Investigative Committee.
Vladimir Terentyev, head of the regional Investigative Committee office, has ordered criminal charges to be filed under the article for "hooliganism." Authorities are working to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
The Prosecutor's Office has taken oversight of the investigation into the assault on the hospital department head, the regional supervisory agency announced.
According to the Crimean and Sevastopol branch of Russia's National Guard (Rosgvardiya), the attack took place the day before. Officers who arrived at the scene promptly detained the woman and handed her over to police for further proceedings.
