Police seize €115,000 in fake luxury goods at German flea market
During a routine inspection at the flea market on Mainparkplatz in Offenbach on Saturday, police seized 120 suspected counterfeit brand-name items. The operator of one stall is now under investigation for alleged violations of trademark law.
According to police, plainclothes officers from Offenbach precinct checked a total of three market stalls as part of a targeted operation, focusing on potential stolen goods and trademark infringements.
Bags, Wallets, and Clothing Examined
At one of the inspected stalls, officers reportedly discovered apparent counterfeits of high-end brand products, including handbags, wallets, and various articles of clothing.
A total of 120 suspected fakes were confiscated, with police estimating their genuine retail value at around €115,000.
Investigation Against Stall Operator
The operator of the stall in question is a 62-year-old woman. She is now facing an investigation on suspicion of violating trademark law.
The probe remains ongoing.
