Nizhny Novgorod businesses weigh in on administrative pressure in new survey

The Ministry of Economic Development and Investments in the Nizhny Novgorod region has launched a survey for local businesses. It aims to evaluate how well control bodies perform their duties and how much administrative pressure companies face. Entrepreneurs can share their experiences anonymously through the regional investment portal. The survey examines several key areas. These include the number of control events each business undergoes annually and how satisfied companies are with inspection procedures. It also looks at the share of firms dealing with administrative pressure from authorities or natural monopolies.

In the first half of 2025, businesses reported that control events were clear and caused minimal disruption. The average number of inspections also fell during this period. Minister of Economic Development Denis Ismagilov stated that the survey’s goal is to ease the burden on law-abiding businesses. Participants can highlight obstacles in the current system and suggest improvements for control bodies to consider.

The findings will help authorities assess the efficiency of control measures in Nizhny Novgorod. Businesses have until the survey closes to provide feedback on administrative processes. Their input could shape future policies aimed at reducing unnecessary pressure on companies.
