Rhys Thomas shortlisted for Employee Owner of the Year award

Rhys Thomas, CEO of Thomas Carroll Group, has been shortlisted for Employee Owner of the Year at the UK Employee Ownership Awards. The recognition comes as the company marks its second year under an employee ownership trust (EOT). Colleagues have praised his leadership in driving the firm’s growth and success since the transition. Thomas Carroll Group became an EOT two years ago, breaking from industry norms. Under Rhys Thomas’ guidance, the company shifted to employee ownership, a move he describes as a key strategic investment. This decision has since paid off, with the firm reporting a 7.1% rise in turnover during its first full year as an EOT.

Gareth Cotty, the group’s Chief Commercial Officer, spoke highly of Thomas’ achievement. He expressed pride in the CEO’s nomination, highlighting the positive impact of his leadership. The UK Employee Ownership Awards ceremony will take place in late November, coinciding with the Employee Ownership Association’s annual conference.

The shortlisting reflects Thomas Carroll Group’s strong performance since adopting employee ownership. With turnover growth and continued recognition, the company’s future under its EOT model appears promising. The awards will showcase the achievements of leaders like Rhys Thomas in the employee-owned business sector.
