Russian Man Gets 13 Years for Smuggling 99 Grams of Amphetamine
A 29-year-old man from Khabarovsk has been sentenced to 13 years in a high-security penal colony for drug smuggling. The case involved a parcel containing 99 grams of amphetamine The investigation began after Khabarovsk Customs detected and seized the narcotics. The defendant claimed he had ordered electronics, clothing, and an unknown package on behalf of a deceased friend. However, the court rejected his denial of guilt, ruling that he had knowingly smuggled a large quantity of a psychotropic substance.
The intended recipient of the parcel was already in custody for a separate drug trafficking case. This left the defendant as the only party linked to the shipment.
