Russian rapper Ptakha becomes Worshipful Master of a Masonic lodge
The Grand Lodge of Russia has appointed Russian rapper Ptakha as Worshipful Master of one of its lodges. The organisation is the only officially recognised Masonic body in the country and is widely acknowledged by international lodges. The Grand Lodge of Russia operates as the sole formally recognised Masonic group in Russia. It focuses on charity and enlightenment as its core mission. The group also translates and publishes rare texts by philosophers and historians.
Members of the secret society recently held a vote on new leadership. The decision to name Ptakha, whose real name is David Nuriev, as Worshipful Master was approved without opposition. Ptakha now leads a lodge within the Grand Lodge of Russia. The organisation continues its work in philanthropy and scholarly publishing. Its international recognition remains intact.
