Saxony-Anhalt Launches 2026 State Music Awards with €10,000 Prize
Saxony-Anhalt has opened submissions for its 2026 State Music Awards. The competition, now in its seventh edition, will recognise outstanding contributions to music across the region. Nominations are being accepted for both the State Music Prize and the Music Promotion Award until March 11, 2026. The State Music Prize offers a €10,000 reward for excellence in composition and performance. It aims to showcase the high standards and variety of Saxony-Anhalt’s music community, as highlighted by Minister of State and Culture Rainer Robra.
The Music Promotion Award targets individuals, ensembles, or groups working in composition, musicology, music education, or arts management. To qualify, candidates must demonstrate a clear link to Saxony-Anhalt. Nominations can come from music associations, cultural bodies, or private individuals. Self-nominations are not allowed. Each submission must provide the nominee’s name, address, and a brief statement of support. Proposals can be sent by post to the State Chancellery and Ministry of Culture in Magdeburg. Alternatively, they can be emailed to [email protected].
The deadline for all entries is March 11, 2026. Winners will be selected based on their artistic achievements and connection to the region. The awards will celebrate both established talent and emerging figures in Saxony-Anhalt’s music scene.
