Schoolgirl Kristina Kukhar Honored for Saving Toddler from Third-Floor Fall
At the "Results Delivered" forum (18+) in Vladivostok, Primorsky Krai Governor Oleg Kozhemyako honored Kristina Kukhar, a schoolgirl from Ussuriysk. Last summer, the tenth-grader saved a child from falling from the third floor.
"For her compassion, courage, resilience, and heroism in aiding those in need, Kristina has been awarded a diploma by the All-Russian Public-State Initiative with international participation, Goryacheye Serdtse (Warm Heart)," Kozhemyako's Telegram channel (18+) reported.
Kukhar prevented a terrible tragedy by rushing to help a four-year-old child. The toddler had crawled through the open glass balcony door on the third floor and tumbled onto the awning of the second-floor balcony. The schoolgirl called emergency services and, while waiting for help to arrive, kept the child distracted.
Days later, Kristina Kukhar was invited to the Ussuriysk branch of Russia's Interior Ministry, where Police Chief Andrei Kononenko personally thanked her for her vigilance and compassion. Her heroic act was also recognized with the For Courage medal at a ceremonial event (6+) at the Children's Creativity Center last December.
The governor of Primorsky Krai presented the brave schoolgirl with her award at the "Results Delivered" forum in the regional capital. This stage of the forum brought together representatives from across the region—deputies, party members and supporters, public figures, and participants in the special military operation.
