David Langner sworn in for second term as Koblenz mayor
David Langner has officially begun his second term as mayor of Koblenz. The 50-year-old was sworn in during a ceremony at Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. His new term started on May 1, following a landslide re-election last September with 67.1% of the vote. The inauguration event included musical performances by Theater Koblenz and local artists. Deputy Mayor Ulrike Mohrs spoke at the ceremony, highlighting Langner’s strong leadership during difficult periods.
In his speech, Langner thanked partners from administration, politics, and civil society for their collaboration since he first took office in 2018. He outlined his main goals for the coming years: improving affordable housing, preserving the city’s quality of life, and fostering social cohesion. Strengthening dialogue with residents and securing jobs to boost Koblenz’s economy were also key priorities in his address.
Langner’s second term follows a decisive re-election victory. His agenda focuses on housing, economic stability, and community engagement. The ceremony marked the formal start of his continued leadership in Koblenz.
