North Rhine-Westphalia's Inclusion Voucher funds 400+ accessibility projects
North Rhine-Westphalia’s Inclusion Voucher program has supported over 400 projects since its launch in 2019. Last year alone, €812,000 was distributed to initiatives making activities more accessible. Now, clubs and community groups can apply for the latest round of funding by 30 September. The program offers grants of up to €2,000 for projects that improve inclusivity. Eligible ideas include festivals, exhibitions, workshops, or publications. In 2022, two initiatives by Viersen-based organisation Special-Fly e.V. received backing.
A mobile Snoezelen sensory room was among the funded projects. Another supported a swimming programme for people with severe multiple disabilities. Both aimed to create opportunities for those often excluded from mainstream activities. Applications must be submitted online before the end of September. The scheme remains open to any group working to break down barriers in their community.
The Inclusion Voucher program has already funded hundreds of projects across the region. Successful applicants receive financial support to expand their reach. This year’s deadline gives groups just weeks to submit their plans for more inclusive activities.
