Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Wiesbaden on Sunday evening

The Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD) has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Wiesbaden and nearby regions. The alert covers Sunday evening, May 10, with extreme weather expected before 11:30 p.m. local time. Forecasters predict intense thunderstorms with gusts reaching 70 kilometres per hour—equivalent to Beaufort scale force 8. Heavy downpours are also likely, with rainfall rates of up to 15 litres per square metre each hour. The storms may bring small hail as well. Residents in the affected areas should prepare for hazardous conditions. The warning remains active until late evening, with strong winds and torrential rain posing risks.
