Yekaterinburg's beloved pierogi chain P-SHK- puts three branches up for sale
Three branches of the popular P-SHK- pierogi chain in Yekaterinburg have gone up for sale. The decision comes as the founder, Andrei Burkov, steps back from managing the network to focus on cooking. Prices for the locations range from 1.4 million to 2.7 million rubles.
The pierogi shop in the Grinivich shopping centre is listed for nearly 2.7 million rubles. A second outlet, inside the Main gastronomic mall, has an asking price of almost 1.4 million rubles. The third location is also available, though its price has not been disclosed.
Burkov cited burnout as the main reason for selling. He explained that he prefers culinary work over the daily demands of running multiple sites. Despite the sale, he will remain involved at the branch on Ulitsa Tolmacheva, where he plans to focus on menu development. Meanwhile, another restaurant, *PRO.Hinkali*, has opened in the city. Its first location launched in the *Mytnoy Dvor* building, close to the *1905 Square* metro station. The new venue occupies the space once held by *Il Patio* and *TGI Fridays*. Running a café or restaurant requires constant effort, according to Vladimir Kabанov, owner of *Easy Pizza*. He noted that success depends on round-the-clock commitment, as well as factors like foot traffic, staff quality, and management. Income can fluctuate widely based on these conditions.
The sale of the P-SHK- branches marks a shift for Burkov, who will now concentrate on cooking rather than expansion. The listed prices reflect the varying potential of each location. Meanwhile, PRO.Hinkali adds to Yekaterinburg’s growing dining scene, taking over a site with a history of different eateries.
