South Korean court sides with shareholders in Mercedes-Benz Korea lawsuit

The court has ruled in favor of shareholders in a class-action lawsuit against Mercedes-Benz Korea over alleged violations of corporate accounting practices.

According to the ruling, approximately 1.8 million shares were found to have been damaged by the company's actions.

In particular, the court determined that while the company had claimed its net assets were impaired due to construction and city gas business losses, this was not reflected in reality, leading to shareholder harm.

The incident dates back to March 30, 2026, when the lawsuit was first filed against Mercedes-Benz. The case was brought on behalf of additional shareholders by the law firm Dnub.
