Spandau police uncover drug operation with children present in raid
Police in Spandau uncovered a suspected drug operation during a raid last night. Officers from the 23rd Police Tactical Unit searched two properties and found narcotics, cash, and a weapon. Four young children were also present in one of the homes. The operation began when a 46-year-old man was stopped in Wröhmännerstraße. He was carrying what appeared to be methamphetamine. Under questioning, he told officers he had bought the drugs from an acquaintance.
A short time later, police searched the apartment of a 54-year-old suspect. Inside, they discovered a large amount of suspected narcotics, along with packaging materials, cash, and a flare gun. Four children, aged five to nine, were found in the property at the time.
The case has now been passed to a specialist unit within Police Directorate 2 (West). Child protective services were also notified due to the presence of the children. Investigations into the suspected drug operation are ongoing. The 54-year-old suspect remains under scrutiny, while the children’s welfare is being assessed by authorities. Police have not yet confirmed whether any arrests have been made.
