Spanish woman with cognitive impairment vanishes in Berlin's Gesundbrunnen district

Berlin police have released two photographs and are appealing to the public for help in locating a missing young woman. Elena Bitar Fadel, a 25-year-old Spanish national, was last seen on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 9:50 AM. She had been with her mother in the Gesundbrunnen district when she went missing. According to current findings, Elena left Gesundbrunnen S-Bahn station and was seen walking toward Humboldthain Park.
Elena has a cognitive impairment, functioning at the level of a 10- to 11-year-old child. She speaks only Spanish, no German, and is unfamiliar with Berlin. She is helpless without assistance, carrying no phone or identification.
Description of the missing woman: - Approximately 155 cm (5'1") tall - Slender build - Brown/blonde hair, tied in a braid - Distinctive birthmark above her right eyebrow - Brown eyes
At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black leather jacket with a hood, black shoes, and black trousers. She may also have a pink crossbody bag with her.
Police are asking: - Does anyone have information on her whereabouts? - Has anyone seen Elena since April 21, 2026? - Can anyone provide further relevant details?
Any leads should be reported to the Criminal Investigation Division (Direktion 2).
