DGB Regional Chairwoman Wingertszahn Re-elected - Susanne Wingertszahn re-elected to lead Germany’s DGB with near-unanimous backing
Susanne Wingertszahn has been re-elected as the leader of the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland for another four-year term. She expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming period, stating 'We are shaping the challenges of our time'.
The DGB represents nearly 400,000 employees across these two regions, acting as an umbrella organization for eight member unions. Wingertszahn will continue to lead the DGB alongside Timo Ahr, who was reappointed as her deputy. The 32-year-old will support Wingertszahn in advocating for the interests of these workers.
Wingertszahn's re-election received overwhelming support, with nearly 99 percent of delegates voting in her favor.
Susanne Wingertszahn's re-election ensures continuity in the leadership of the DGB in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. Together with Timo Ahr, she will continue to give workers a strong voice, representing their interests and shaping the challenges faced by the region's employees.
