Swissport's Matchbox platform earns key security certifications for travel verification

Swissport has obtained ISO 27001, 27017, and 27018 certifications for its Matchbox digital travel document verification platform. According to the company, the three standards cover information security management, cloud security controls, and the handling of personal data.

Matchbox supports automated document checks during online check-in, at self-service kiosks, and through ground handling staff. With this product certification, Swissport complements its company-wide ISO 27001 accreditation, which has been in place since 2023, with a platform-specific certification.

For verifying travel eligibility, Matchbox operates its own database of international entry regulations. Swissport states that this database is updated daily and continuously monitors over 22 million pages of global entry requirements. This allows airlines to check passengers' travel eligibility in real time and reduce the risk of denied boardings.

Most recently, the company had already received IATA Pharma certification for its Düsseldorf location.
