Potholes, Aging Pipes, and Rising Renovation Pressures: Titisee-Neustadt Plans Major Infrastructure Overhaul
Titisee-Neustadt plans decade-long infrastructure overhaul starting in 2026
On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, the town council is set to approve a phased renovation plan for roads, water, and sewage pipelines. The proposal is based on a comprehensive assessment of all municipal streets, according to a statement from the city.
The plan outlines a ten-year timeline to gradually modernize the infrastructure, with measures implemented in stages—tailored to the administrative capacity of the town hall and the availability of civil engineering firms.
Key focus areas for renovations include several parts of the city, such as Behördenbuckel, the Schottenbühl district, and the Saiger Hang and Gutachstraße areas. The city administration notes that the sequence of work can be adjusted flexibly if the condition of certain roads or pipes deteriorates unexpectedly.
Energy infrastructure is also part of the strategy: In coordination with EWS (Energieversorgung Schluchsee), heat pipelines will be laid simultaneously where needed. This approach aims to consolidate construction work and avoid redundant excavations.
The exact schedule for road resurfacing remains undecided, as it depends on further planning for sewer renovations. Overall, however, the plan is designed to ensure long-term, predictable improvements to the city's infrastructure.
