Transneft-Sever's trade union wins top safety award for worker protection
The trade union of Transneft-Sever JSC has been named the winner in the category for organizations with an average headcount of over 3,000 employees at the "Best Primary Trade Union Organization in Occupational Health and Safety" competition. The results were announced by the Republic of Komi branch of Russia's Oil, Gas, and Construction Workers' Union (Negazstroiprofsoyuz).
The jury highly commended the close collaboration between the primary trade union and the management of Transneft-Sever JSC in implementing workplace safety measures, injury prevention, and the reduction of occupational diseases.
The competition evaluated key performance indicators, including the organization of occupational safety initiatives, compliance with workplace improvement measures outlined in the collective bargaining agreement, and the inclusion of hazardous and high-risk workplaces in the agreement. Additional criteria covered the specified guarantees and compensations for such conditions, as well as workplace injury statistics for the reporting period.
The contest aims to boost motivation and achieve outstanding results in the work of primary trade unions to prevent workplace injuries and occupational illnesses, enhance labor conditions and safety, and strengthen trade union oversight to ensure workers' rights to safe and compliant working environments.
