Two men arrested after Lichtenrade burglary and suspicious behavior
Two men, aged 19 and 29, were arrested in Lichtenrade after a residential burglary on Wednesday. An off-duty officer first noticed the suspects near an apartment building on Halker Zeile just before 1 p.m. Police later recovered stolen jewellery and burglary tools from their possession.
The incident began when an off-duty officer spotted the two men acting suspiciously near a ground-floor flat. A quick check revealed a forced window at the same address. The officer followed them on foot until they boarded a bus at the Grimmstraße stop.
Police units intercepted the bus shortly afterwards and detained both suspects. During a search, officers found stolen jewellery and burglary tools inside the 29-year-old’s backpack. The recovered items were later returned to their rightful owner. The two men were taken into custody and processed by the specialised unit of Police Directorate 4 (South).
The investigation into the burglary continues as authorities examine the evidence. The stolen jewellery has been returned, and both suspects remain in custody. Police have not yet released further details about the case.
