Peacock hijacks Berlin delivery van in bizarre escape attempt
A peacock caused an unusual disruption in Berlin’s Spandau district on Sunday. The bird climbed into a delivery van and refused to leave, prompting calls for emergency help. The peacock had wandered away from Peacock Island, a well-known spot in the city. When it spotted the open delivery van, it hopped inside and settled in.
Authorities soon arrived at the scene. Police and firefighters worked together to carefully coax the bird out of the vehicle.
The peacock was safely removed from the van without harm. It was later returned to its home on Peacock Island. The incident brought a brief but memorable pause to the driver’s workday.
