Two men arrested in Schöneberg for suspected moped theft at dawn
Two men were arrested in Schöneberg early on Tuesday after residents spotted them tampering with a parked moped. Police took the suspects into custody on suspicion of theft and confiscated tools believed to be used in the incident.
The incident unfolded on Luitpoldstraße just before 4:30 a.m. Local residents alerted officers after noticing suspicious activity near the vehicle. Officers from Precinct 41 quickly arrived at the scene and detained the men, aged 21 and 24.
While in custody, both suspects were processed for identification. Investigators also seized items allegedly linked to burglary. Directorate 4 (South) has since taken charge of the case.
The arrested men remain under investigation for theft. Police continue to examine the seized tools as part of their enquiries. Further details will follow as the investigation progresses.
