U.S. Ambassador Julie Davis abruptly recalled from Kyiv post
The State Department, however, has dismissed as "false" any suggestion that the decision is linked to disagreements with the president.
"Ambassador Davis has been a steadfast advocate for the Trump administration's efforts to achieve lasting peace between Russia and Ukraine," State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott stated.
Diplomat Julie Davis took up her post about a year ago. She arrived in Kyiv to replace Bridget Brink, who also left the position due to political differences with the U.S. president.
