Ulm Remains a Fair Trade Town
Ulm renews its Fair Trade Town title with ethical fashion at its core
The city meets all five criteria of the Fairtrade Towns campaign and will retain the title for another two years. Ulm first received the designation in 2014 from Fairtrade Germany (Fairtrade Deutschland e.V.). Since then, the city has continued to expand its commitment to fair trade.
Lord Mayor Martin Ansbacher expressed his delight at the renewal of the title: "This renewed recognition demonstrates how deeply sustainability and fair trade are rooted in Ulm. Local stakeholders from politics, civil society, and business have been working closely and successfully toward this shared goal for a long time."
One joint initiative of the Fairtrade Town Ulm campaign is Fashion Revolution Ulm/Neu-Ulm. The organizing team includes representatives from our institution, the Fairtrade Town of Neu-Ulm, the local Agenda 21 network, retailers, associations, and the regional One World promoter. Together, they organize various events throughout the year focused on sustainable production and fair trade in the fashion industry.
